PDF Plan: Garden Bench Wood Replacement Slats
Do you have an old bench in your garden that is falling down? While the wooden slats may be rotting away, the cast-iron bench ends will last forever. Can I buy the slats with just the bolts/just the braces/just the strap, but not the full kit? We bought this garden bench about 15 years ago from the local Lowes home improvement store. I opted for a renovation once I determined that the cast iron framework of the bench was in good condition and it really just needed a cleaning and slat replacement. I have a garden bench with cast iron ends, The slats appear to be Teak and are rotting away at the ends. Does anybody know if it is possible to buy replacement slats for these benchs.

Item for sale is a fully reconditioned rollback garden bench, with black cast iron supports and brand-new wooden slats. All wood has been painted with hard-wearing, outdoors paint that is guaranteed. Anyway, I’m wondering what would be the best type of wood to use to replace these slats. Looking for something that would hold up outside and obviously something that is strong enough.
